Nearly a decade after Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint and robbed of millions in a luxury Paris apartment, a new documentary is set to explore the infamous 2016 heist, this time, with never-before-heard details from those directly involved in the case. Titled The Kim Kardashian Diamond Heist, the 45-minute documentary is being produced by Firecracker Films for BBC Three and BBC One, and will also stream on BBC iPlayer later this month.
Kim Kardashian’s 2016 Paris Robbery To Be Made Into A Documentary
The documentary by BBC promises to unpack what really happened the night Kim was tied up and robbed while alone in her Paris hotel room during Fashion Week, a moment that shocked fans and the wider public alike. The film will feature interviews with police officers, journalists who followed the case closely, and friends of the Kardashian family. Their accounts will take viewers back to that harrowing night, offering new insight into the crime itself and the investigation that followed. According to the BBC, the documentary will also cover the recent court case where Kim came face-to-face with some of the eight men who were ultimately convicted.
“This was one of the most talked-about celebrity crimes of our time,” says Nasfim Haque, Head of Content at BBC Three. “But beyond the headlines, we want to explore the human impact and what this incident tells us about the darker side of fame in the digital era.”
The documentary also plans to examine the role social media may have played in the robbery. At the time, much was made of Kim’s frequent online posts that showed off her jewellery, daily movements, and hotel location, details some believe made it easier for the robbers to target her.

Firecracker Creative Director Sam Emmery, who executive produced the project alongside Jes Wilkins, sees this documentary as a way to go beyond the gossip and trace how justice was ultimately served. “It’s a chance to show how the case unfolded and the effect it had on Kim, not just as a celebrity, but as a human being.” Directed by Ben Bryant and produced by Jessica Sartenaer, The Kim Kardashian Diamond Heist was developed by Kirsty Calvert-Ansari, with Julie Scott as Head of Production. Distribution will be handled by Passion Distribution.
