Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij married in 2010 and kept it a secret until Mahhi Vij was seen wearing a mangalsutra at a function. After three months of dating, Jay proposed to Mahhi on December 31, 2009. On November 11, 2011, the pair confirmed their marriage. Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali had their first child, Tara, using IVF.

They are also foster parents to Khushi and Rajveer. After 16 years of marriage, Jay and Mahi announced their separation and disclosed that they would co-parent their children. After announcing her divorce from Jay, Mahhi Vij rushed to Instagram stories to share a mysterious message about ‘becoming a decent person’. During the divorce news, she altered her Instagram bio to ‘Fighter’.
