Internet Slams Samay Raina, Beer Biceps’ Latest Joke On India’s Got Latent. Here’s What Happened!

Comedian Samay Raina’s reality show India’s Got Latent is once again making headlines but for all the wrong reasons again. This time, it’s YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, who has landed in hot water for making a tasteless and disturbing remark on the show. At a time when social media plays a crucial role in shaping pop culture and influencing young audiences, it’s worth asking who, if anyone, is drawing the line.

Samay Raina, BeerBiceps Make Vulgar Jokes

During a recent episode featuring content creators Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija (aka “The Rebel Kid”), Allahbadia posed an appalling question to a contestant: Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?

The moment, which was met with laughter from the panel and audience, quickly spiralled into controversy after a clip went viral on social media. Netizens and public figures alike have slammed the remark as crude, irresponsible, and an example of how online creators are pushing boundaries in the worst possible way all in the name of engagement. Journalist and lyricist Neelesh Misra was one of the first to call out the show, condemning the lack of accountability from both creators and platforms. “This content is not designated as adult content—it can be seen with ease even by a child if the algorithm takes him or her there. The creators or the platform have zero sense of responsibility,” Misra wrote on X, adding that he was “not surprised at all that four people at the desk and lots in the audience celebrated this and had a great laugh.”

He further criticized the culture of rewarding shock value over substance: “Decency is not incentivized in India by platforms or audiences and creators are stooping lower and lower for audience reach and revenue. Banal, crass, and insensitive are words only for boring, uncool people.” Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate also reacted to the controversy, calling out the disturbing normalization of such content.
“It’s not creative. It’s perverted. And we can’t normalize perverse behavior as cool. The fact that this sick comment met loud applause must worry us all.”

Several social media users echoed these concerns, with some tagging Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, urging him to take action. “This will leave a detrimental impact on kids and youth who are going to watch this,” one user warned. Another user labeled the show “extremely stupid stuff,” adding, “What is considered funny has really degraded these days.”

Has Content Creation Hit a New Low?

Beyond Allahbadia’s remark, the backlash points to a larger issue how far creators are willing to go for engagement. What was once an industry that thrived on wit, originality, and meaningful content now seems to be running on cheap shock value and controversy.
This isn’t the first time India’s Got Latent has been caught in controversy. Just last week, a contestant from Arunachal Pradesh faced legal trouble over a remark about dog meat. Given the outrage, the question remains: Will Samay Raina or Ranveer Allahbadia acknowledge their misstep? Or will they brush it off as just another viral moment? So far, neither has addressed the backlash.
