Did KATSEYE Copy AESPA, JENNIE In New MV Teaser? All You Need To Know About Plagarism Accusations!

Plagiarism accusations in the K-pop world are not uncommon for the audience to catch. From outfits to lyrics, everything becomes a topic of concern among the fans of the idols. In previous news, KATSEYE’s teaser one has led to an online debate about HYBE plagiarising Aespa. And after their second teaser for the song ‘Gnarly,’ the internet was quick to notice that their clothes resembled some of BLACKPINK members’ famous outfits.

HYBE Accused Of Plagiarism

After the music video’s teaser release, netizens noticed that two of the clothes shown in the teaser were identical to BLACKPINK Jisoo’s ‘Earthquake’ dress and Jennie’s ‘Shut Down’ look. Fans were not happy with this and shared their reactions over HYBE’s ‘copied’ looks from BLACKPINK members. A viral thread also shed light on “HYBE copying other looks” with many ‘proof’ compilations comparing idols from the agency with others.

While many shared their backlash on the internet, others had different reactions. Many defended this by saying that in the past, fans enjoyed seeing idols wearing similar outfits and even enjoyed this trend. They pointed out how this is being used to spread hate against HYBE idols.

One user on X (Previously Twitter) wrote, “Oh, wbk hybe has always made them artists studied aespa down in those meeting rooms,” while another said, “like I get the inspo thing bc aespa are the trendsetters of the industry but the direct copy? too shameless.” Many also defended this and wrote, “Remember the times where we counted idols wearing identical outfits as crumbs, now its suddenly plagiarism,” and “These kpop stans don’t even know what the word plagiarism even means and that just shows how illiterate they are. Clothes will always be recycled and used multiple times. That’s not plagiarism.”
