Internet Bashes Swara Bhaskar For Meeting Maulana Sajjad Nomani Who Opposed Female Education
Internet is questioning Swara Bhaskar's previous advocacy of women's rights.

Veere Di Wedding star Swara Bhaskar has often landed herself amid controversies due to her opinions. While most of her views in the past were about women’s empowerment, this time, the actor has gone back on all those values by posing with the Islamic scholar Maulana Sajjad Nomani. In a now-viral picture shared by her husband Fahad Ahmad, the couple were seen posing with someone known for his opposition towards unsupervised education for girls.
Swara Bhaskar Receives Backlash
Bollywood actor Swara Bhaskar and her husband Fahad Ahmad visited Maulana Sajjad Nomani in his office on Saturday. The politician later shared these pictures on X (Formerly Twitter) with the caption, “In the service of Maulana Sajjad Nomani, and he showered us with love and blessings.”
This picture was soon met with backlash against Swara Bhaskar for visiting the Maulana. Netizens bashed the actor for posing with Maulana who has been known for his controversial statements against girls’ education. The Internet also questioned her previous advocacy for women’s rights and dumbing down feminism for the public.

One comment said, “Swara Bhaskar is known for mouthing platitudes about ‘feminism’ and women’s empowerment. Swara Bhaskar married Fahad Ahmad, a leader in the Samajwadi Party in 2023. The same year in September, the couple was blessed with a baby girl, Raabiya, on September 23. Bhaskar has yet to comment on the controversy.
