The South Korean entertainment industry has been hit with a major controversy. The “Injection Aunty” controversy first came to light when famous comedian and broadcaster, Park Na Rae, was accused of medical malpractice and workplace harassment by her former managers. The allegations about the comedian being associated with an unlicensed medical practitioner came to light, and even K-pop idol Key from SHINee was speculated to be involved in the situation. The Injection Aunty Controversy Linked To Park Na Rae And SHINee Key
The scandal first exploded when South Korean comedian Park Na Rae was accused of mistreating her former managers. Following this, pictures of Na Rae receiving drips and other treatments from a woman named ‘A’ surfaced, who is alleged not to have a medical license.
Park, who was already making headlines due to her managers’ accusations of non-payment and workplace harassment, received intense scrutiny for her association with ‘A’ and her IV treatments and proxy prescriptions for antidepressants.
Responding to the claims, Park Na Rae’s agency revealed to Xsportsnews that they believed “A is a doctor with a valid medical license” and that Park had only received “a nutritional injection.” They also insisted that the situation does not constitute as being an illegal medical practice.
The Injuction Aunty controversy, however, escalated when the Korean Medical Association issued a stern statement labelling the procedures “clear unlicensed medical treatment in violation of the Medical Service Act.” The association further indicated that the case involved drugs that might be illegally supplied and urged authorities to investigate.
A refuted the claims by claiming that she had spent years studying in Inner Mongolia and was the first and youngest foreign professor at an alleged institution called Fokang Medical College Hospital.

SHINee’s Key got dragged into the scandal after viewers noted his dog featured in one of the pictures that the Injuction Aunty had previously posted online. Fans then flocked to the K-pop idol’s comment section to ask about Na Rae and the woman. SM Entertainment has, however, not responded to these claims.
