In a move to limit the explicit content on the digital platforms, the Indian Government has taken a big decision. As per the latest reports, a list of various OTT platforms have been banned by the Central agency in view of the platform’s content. The list also includes Ekta Kapoor’s AltBalaji app along with a few more. The details on this news are limited as of now, read to know more about it.

Government Ban On These OTT Apps

A shocking news surfaced on July 25 about the Indian Government banning some OTT platforms for their obscene content. The Government has put this ban alleging that these apps promoted soft content, vulgarity and obscenity on the digital platforms. The list of these banned apps is quite long, and it includes OTT platforms like Ekta Kapoor’s AltBalaji, Ullu,  Big Shots App, Desiflix, Boomex, Navarasa Lite, and Gulab App, as per a report by Hindustan Times.

This move comes in view of restricting and regulating OTT apps from promoting vulgar content. Well, this is quite a strict move by the government. Earlier, there have been complaints against OTT platforms for questionable and vulgar content. Recent, an Aijaz Khan reality show on Ullu was heavily bashed after a clip from the show went viral. In this, the host was seen allegedly asking the female contestants to perform vulgar acts.
