Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan And More Pakistani Celebs’ Instagram Account Blocked In India After Pahalgam Attack
India's move to block Instagram accounts of Pakistani celebs comes after tensions escalated between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack.

In a shocking move, Pakistani actors Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan’s Instagram accounts have been disabled in India. Upon opening their accounts, we found a message from Instagram that claims that the celebrities’ accounts are unavailable in India because the Meta-owned platform received a legal request to restrict the said content. Apart from the two actresses, the Instagram handles of other Pakistani celebrities, including Ali Zafar, Bilal Abbas, Sajal Aly, and Imraan Abbas, have also been restricted. This move comes just after the Pahalgam terror attack that took place on April 22. Currently, there have been escalating tensions between India and Pakistan after the shocking terror.

Instagram Accounts Of Pakistani Celebrities Disabled In India?
Just hours ago, the Instagram accounts of Pakistani celebrities, including Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, Sanam Saeed, Iqra Aziz, Bilal Abbas, Sajal Aly, and Imraan Abbas, have been disabled in India. Even though the Indian Government has issued no official statement or confirmation about it. The message showcased on the Meta-owned platform hints that this came after a legal request issued on behalf of the Indian Government. Earlier this month, the Indian Government blocked 16 Pakistani YouTube channels for allegedly sharing communally sensitive and provocative content along with false and misleading information against India. This came after the IB Ministry issued blocking orders as per recommendations from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Another thing to note is that the Instagram Accounts of several other Pakistani celebs, including Fawad Khan, Sanam Teri Kasam fame Mawra Hocane, Atif Aslam, Fahad Mustafa and many others, have not been blocked and are accessible in India at the time of publishing this article.

About The Pahalgam Terror Attack
On April 22, 2025, five armed terrorists attacked tourists near Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. During this attack, 26 civilians, mostly Hindu males, were killed. This has been identified as one of the deadliest attacks that took place in India since the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. This shocking attack took place in the Baisaran Valley, which is a popular tourist spot. This terror attack led to an escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, after which the Indian Government immediately suspended the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan till the country stops its support for cross-border terrorism. PM Modi also announced the closure of the main India-Pakistan border crossing while issuing a travel ban on all Pakistani nationals to our country under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme, while cancelling all previously issued visas among other actions against the country due to the shocking terror attack that took place in Jammu and Kashmir.
