Samay Raina Appears Before Guwahati Police In Connection With FIR Filed Against India’s Got Latent
Samay Raina was interrogated in the Ranveer Allahbadia joke controversy which left many people angry and there was a lot of moral policing around it.
A few days back, YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia found himself in a grave controversy when he cracked an insensitive joke during Samay Raina’s show. There was a lot of moral police and hatred that came his way. Many FIRs were also filed, and one was made in Guwahati. The comedian Samay Raina was also asked to appear before the court which he finally did on April 6, Sunday. He presented himself before the Guwahati Police and recorded his statement on the FIR filed against him. Read here for more.
Samay Raina Appears Before Guwahati Crime Branch
The FIR was filed against Samay Raina with claims that his show had vulgar and obscene content. He had asked the Guwahati Crime Branch for some time because he was out of India for work commitments. However, the comedian appeared before the Police on April 6 and gave his statement on the FIR filed against him. The Joint Police Commissioner of Guwahati interacted with the media and informed them that Samay Raina was interrogated in the case and his statement was recorded.

For the unversed, Ranveer Allahbadia had cracked a joke about incest with parents which did not sit well with many people and they bashed the creator left, right and centre. He also posted an apology video on social media and acknowledged that his joke was not appropriate. Ranveer was also granted interim bail from the Supreme Court against the FIRs filed in various places.
Samay Raina also gave his official statement on social media and said that would be cooperating with the authorities throughout the investigation. He had also removed all the videos from his YouTube channel.
