The makers dropped a short video announcement for Imtiaz Ali’s next directorial venture based on the life of the legendary singer Amar Singh Chamkila. From the release date to the OTT platform, here are the deets that have been dropped too!
Based on the life of Punjab’s well-known singer Amar Singh Chamkila, Imtiaz Ali’s next project stars Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh. In this short video announcement, we get to know that movie will show an untold story of the legendary singer who died at the young age of 27. In the video, we get to see a glimpse of Diljit Dosanjh’s character. There are also glimpses of the kind of fame he enjoys among the fans. The music of the film has been given by AR Rehman.
Amar Singh Chamkila looks quite intriguing to me, especially because of my curiosity to know how a famous singer like him died so young. Diljit Dosanjh is always promising in the character of a singer because he played a similar role in the film Phillauri. We do not see Parineeti’s character in the video, however, she will be playing the role of Amarjot Kaur, wife of singer Amar Singh Chamkila.
The background score in the video was the theme song and it sounds quite powerful, and well it’s AR Rehman, so expectations are anyway high! In fact, the lead actors Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh have also sung some of the songs in the film. The film will release on Netflix in 2024, and no final date has been released as of now.
