WONHEE said that,
“In my opinion, when I think of K-pop girl groups, the first group that comes to mind is TWICE sunbaenim. Since I was young, TWICE were always someone my friends watched and who naturally became a part of my daily life.” https://t.co/UlchiPuuBm pic.twitter.com/BnU0L1efEJ

ILLIT’s Wonhee’s answer was very simple, unproblematic and even adorable. She just expressed her affection for her favourite K-pop group. However, things started to get twisted when a post containing a mistranslation from this interview went viral. The incorrect translation read, “In my opinion, when it comes to the most popular girl group, it’s always been TWICE.”
Blinks are now harrassing Wonhee over her opinion about TWICE’s popularity.

This angered BLACKPINK fans as they feel that globally and even in South Korea, it is BLACKPINK who has had more impact as a girl group. TWICE’s fans stepped in to defend their favourite group and things got ugly. Wonhee was trolled relentlessly, called names, and even had her pictures edited due to the mistranslation.
