Before Ibrahim Ali Khan set foot in the industry, the buzz around his name had already started on social media. When his debut film with Khushi Kapoor– Nadaaniyan released, it received heavy criticism from netizens and honestly, we agree with them! In a recent interview, Iggy admitted that it was a “bad” film. But now it seems that his comment against the project allegedly haven’t sat well with the film’s producer, Karan Johar!
How Does Karan Johar Feel About Ibrahim Ali Khan’s Comment?
While may appreciate Ibrahim Ali Khan’s honest reflection on his past work, others may not like it and it seems that Karan Johar may be one of those people. As per Deccan Chronicle’s report, the acclaimed filmmakers’ close friend revealed that Johar isn’t a “stranger to ingratitude,” adding that many of the director’s “protegees” have shown their ungratefulness. They added that the Student Of The Year director kept his promise of launching Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s son.
They also reportedly expressed that Johar launched Iggy in Nadaaniyan and later also cast him in Sarzameen, even though he was advised not to do that. They further posed the question that if Ibrahim felt that his debut film was a very “bad,” then why did Sarzameen not work?
According to the publication, another source stated that one doesn’t “disown” a movie just because it fails. They added that Iggy’s father– Saif, was also fired from his debut movie– Bekhudi, but the actor did not speak against that project once. As of now, Johar hasn’t reacted to the actor’s comments on Nadaaniyan.

Why Did Nadaaniyan Receive Heavy Criticism?
Although Nadaaniyan passed in the glamour test, it failed inn terms of the script and acting. People expressed their disappointment after seeing Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s acting. This just proves that one cannot get away with mediocre work, expecting that no one would notice it. Iggy’s honest reflection on his work and his ability to take accountability was indeed impressive.
