Here’s Why BTS’ Company HYBE’s Headquarters In Seoul Got Raided By Police Amid Ongoing Investigation!
Get to all about the ongoing investigation launched against HYBE.

BTS’ label and media conglomerate HYBE was raided by authorities today. The Seoul Metropolitan Financial Crime Investigation Unit is conducting a search and seizure at HYBE’s headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The police concerned have been trying to get a search warrant issued against HYBE and its founder Bang Si Hyuk for quite a while now, and it looks like their request has finally been approved. Read on to know why the raid is happening at HYBE.
Why Is BTS’ Company HYBE Getting Investigated?
Police are currently investigating HYBE on suspicions of fraudulent illegal transactions by HYBE’s founder and chairman, Bang Si Hyuk. Bang Si Hyuk is accused of being involved in selling off shares illegally. He had allegedly told existing investors that there would be no IPO in 2019, having them sell their shares, but then proceeding with an IPO and making billions in profit.
Furthermore, Si Hyuk has been charged with forcing current investors to sell their stock to a private equity fund-established special purpose corporation (SPC). Two of the fund’s three registered executives at the time of its founding were from HYBE, and they were both well-known to be close friends of Chairman Bang.
The police requested a search warrant for the company’s headquarters on July 17. On July 21, however, the matter was referred to the special prosecutors of the Financial Supervisory Service due to controversy surrounding a dispute over investigative leadership.

The case is currently being looked into under South Korea’s Capital Market Act. The act demands public disclosure of all financial arrangements made for the shareholders and prohibits the use of insider information. If convicted by the prosecutors, Bang Si Hyuk can be charged with securities fraud and sentenced to life in prison.
