“Tarla Was Here”: Huma Qureshi, Sharib Hashmi Visit Her Father’s Delhi Restaurant, She Points Food Connection!

Huma Qureshi is all set to present her new avatar as the popular chef Tarla Dalal in her upcoming film Tarla. The actress currently has her hands full with promotional duties for her film. As a part of this, the actress reached Delhi to gorge on yummy food at her father’s restaurant Saleem’s. Taking to her social media handles, Huma Qureshi shared pictures of her having a hearty meal with Tarla’s cast and her father. Interestingly, even Tarla Dalal had started her culinary journey in the 70s like Huma’s father had which makes this occasion all the more sweeter!

In the pictures, Tarla actor Huma Qureshi shared pictures of her visit to her father Saleem Qureshi’s restaurant in Delhi. She posed with her dad and Sharib Hashmi in the pictures and was also seen gorging on the yummy delicacies that the restaurant is famous for.

In the caption of the post, Huma wrote that Tarla and Saleem’s story dates back to the 70s and how these two worlds have collided 50 years later is making her feel immensely proud. Talking about the power of food, Huma further wrote that it unites two communities in India.

Last year, a fan shared the restaurant’s picture and asked if they serve vegetarian food too. To this, Huma responded to them and asked them to try dal makhani, naan and paneer tikka!

Tarla is a Piyush Gupta directorial which stars Huma as the titular character. The story is based on the real-life culinary master Tarla Dalal who is a household name because of the delicious recipes she makes. Tarla is set to release on Zee 5 on July 7, 2023.
