He went on to write a heartful note saying, “I grew up hearing OP Dutta’s legendary stories, holding JP’s uncle’s hand, and sitting by Nidhi Dutta’s side. I never realized how much those moments would shape my love for cinema and the Indian Armed Forces. Bhushan Sir, thank you for trusting me with this opportunity, I’m eternally grateful. Working with Sunny Deol sir is a blessing, and I can’t wait to share the screen with Varun Dhawan who I look up to as an older brother. As a huge Diljit Dosanjh fan, sharing the screen with him is surreal. And to you, Papa—everything I am is because of you, and I’ll do my best to honour the legacy you’ve worked so hard to create”
The highly regarded 1997 movie Border has a follow-up called Border 2. For this new instalment, JP Dutta, the original director, has moved into a producing capacity. Starring Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, and Akshaye Khanna, among others, the first movie captured the suspenseful events of the 1971 India-Pakistan War, particularly the Battle of Longewala.
