Was Hrithik Roshan Approached For Don 3 Behind Ranveer Singh’s Back? Source Reveals

The drama surrounding Don 3, Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment has grabbed major attention. After Ranveer exited the project, he was reportedly asked to pay Rs 40 crore in compensation. However, the actor felt he wasn’t liable to pay the amount and cited multiple reasons for the same. This also reportedly includes the allegation that Hrithik Roshan was approached to play the lead in the said film behind his back. Now, a source shed light on the same and stated that the claim is untrue.

According to reports, Ranveer Singh allegedly said that when his films weren’t working, the Don 3 makers kept delaying the shoot. It was also claimed that they had approached Hrithik Roshan behind Ranveer’s back to play the main character instead. Further, the actor alleged that after Dhurnadhar became a hit, they wanted him again. Now talking about the same claim, a source close to Hrithik Roshan told HT City that it was untrue. The insider stated that Hrithik was not approached to star in the upcoming project after Ranveer agreed to star in it.

More Details About This Matter

This matter seems to have escalated as the Producer’s Guild of India mediated two meetings between Ranveer Singh and the Don 3 makers. As per Bollywood Hungama, the second meeting happened on February 7. The report claimed that Ranveer felt that he shouldn’t pay the compensation as he didn’t take any money from the producers. A source stated that the Padmavat star pointed out that he was to work on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra. He prepared for the role for almost a year, however, the project was shelved and the director started working on Love and War. Ranveer reportedly stated that he wasn’t compensated for the year he dedicated to that role. Additionally, the source stated that the actor also brought up the speculation that Shah Rukh Khan was approached for Don 3 as well. He further argued that if the OG Don franchise star had agreed to do the third instalment, he would have been replaced without being compensated.

Lets see whether Ranveer Singh or Don 3 comments officially regarding the matter. As far as the actor’s professional front goes, his next film, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, will be released on March 19. He will also be a part of a zombie thriller titled Pralay.
