At Cannes Film Festival 2025, this film created history by getting 9 9-minute standing ovation, and after a long wait, it’s releasing in India. The trailer of Homebound was dropped on September 17, Wednesday, and this film stars Vishal Jethwa, Ishaan Khatter, and Janhvi Kapoor. Masaan’s director, Neeraj Ghaywan, has directed this film, and it’s backed by producers Karan Johar, Adar Poonawala, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra. Homebound trailer gives us a glimpse of what looks like a touching and hard-hitting film. It’s about two young boys, Chandan Kumar (Vishal Jethwa) and Mohammed Shoaib (Ishaan Khatter) who have big dreams, these childhood friends want to chase them. However, in this journey, they are made to face injustice because they come from the oppressed communities but the boys are determined to break these man-made barriers of the society to soar high. Janhvi Kapoor as Sudha also has similar dreams and Homebound will be a journey of these three characters.
From the trailer, the performances look impressive, and the setting, direction, storyline, and everything looks very promising. Homebound trailer has got us intrigued. And director Neeraj Ghaywan has already shown through Masaan that he is a master storyteller especially when it comes to dealing with such themes and realities of the society.
Many people have expressed their excitement about this film especially to see Vishal Jethwa and Ishaan Khatter’s role in the film. The trailer also made some social media users emotional and they are hoping for many Indian audience to watch the film.
