When Badshah’s ‘Tateeree’ track was dropped, many expressed concerns over its lyrics and visuals. After it went viral, he faced legal action when the Haryana State Women’s Commission sent him a notice. Nari Tu Narayani Sanstha’s president also filed a complaint along with Shiv Kumar, head of Shiv Aarti Foundation. Many expressed that the song consisted of offensive language and visuals of underage girls in school uniforms throwing their school bags. Now shedding light on the situation, hip-hop artist Santy Sharma has backed the artist.

Santy Sharma Supports Badshah

Santy Sharma took to his Instagram and shared a post with Badshah’s picture with a caption saying that rap music falls under the genre where artists write lines about their competitors as references. He added that a track’s audio can be created long before the video. The hip hopper revealed that the video team is separate, and even major artists like Badshah may not even know what their video will be like. Santy further wrote that the major drawback for the ‘Teteeree’ artist and other artists emerging in India today is the lack of knowledge among listeners in India about this hip-hop art form.

Adding to this, Santy stated that if a line or track is incorrect, the lyrics should be updated or changed. He said that it was wrong that Badshah is being judged without understanding the full story. He ended the caption with, “Sorry if anyone is hurt by this post, but this is the reality.”

What Did Badshah Say About The Controversy?

After the controversy related to ‘Tateeree’ song became the central topic on social media, Badshah shared a video online acknowledging outrage over the track. He clarified that he never intended to talk badly about any minor or a woman from Haryana. He stated that he is from the hip-hop genre where lyrics are used to compete and bring down the opponent. Badshah stated that his lyrics were never for any woman or child, nor will he ever do that. The musician made sure to say that he has always tried to take Haryana’s culture and language with him wherever he can and as much as he can. Badshah ended the video by apologising to the people who were hurt by his track, hoping that people would consider him a son of Haryana and forgive him.
