While some accused him of being insensitive, others defended him, saying that the backlash was unnecessary and had been blown out of proportion.
About BTS Jimin
In addition to other BTS members’ acts linked to the genocide and brand boycotts, Jimin received significant outrage and dissatisfaction for publicly eating the brand on a live broadcast in front of a large audience. As per the internet, it also raised concerns about whether the group cared about such important global issues, which has been a recurring concern since they came back from the military service.
i don’t get how you’re online, and yet see nothing about Palestine, about the boycotting like? on every social media platform you will find at least one video on them but here goes jimin not knowing why he shouldn’t be indulging in McDonald’s in 2025 pic.twitter.com/rbrfSxzo1R

One user commented, “Got so happy clicking on Jimin’s live notification seeing that he was STILL alive after an hour and then I read the comments and found out he’s eating a McDonald’s. I still don’t get why they don’t care about Palestine, guess I need to stop being that happy abt seeing them,” while another said, “As Armies, we are very much disappointed in you, pls don’t consume or promote McDonald’s. We need you to stand with humanity.”
The army members also defended him, saying that the comments he saw were not explicitly about McD. There were a lot of individuals asking him about diets and to eat properly, so he reacted that way. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know.
