Here’s Why Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Starrer Alpha Has Been Delayed By YRF. Know Inside!
Though initially Alia Bhatt's Alpha was supposed to be released on Christmas 2025, recent reports suggest that it has been delayed.
Bollywood star Alia Bhatt’s next project is the much-anticipated YRF’s first women-led spy thriller called Alpha, starring her and Sharvari. Though initially the film was supposed to be released on Christmas 2025, recent reports suggest that it has been delayed. The film has been pushed to next year and will be released on April 17, 2026. Yash Raj Films has confirmed this while revealing that the VFX of Alpha needs time to present the film as more appealing. More details inside!
About Alia Bhatt’s Alpha
As reported by News18, a YRF spokesperson said, “Alpha is an extremely special film for us, and we want to present the film in its most cinematic self. We have realised that the VFX will take a little longer than we had initially assumed.” They said that they want the perfect theatrical experience for the audience; hence, the film will be released on April 17, 2026, instead. A source also suggested that the team wants to put their best effort in front of the audience.

This was developing as the VFX team was under a lot of pressure to meet timeframes that appeared unattainable. As a result, the release date has been pushed back only owing to this, not the existing crowded release window from Avatar until the end of January 2026. There is still a lot of work to be done, which is why the film will be released in April rather than February.

Following the phenomenal success of YRF’s Saiyaara, all eyes were on Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2. While the YRF Spyverse film debuted well, it struggled to retain its momentum at the box office. According to prominent journalist Subhash K. Jha, with the Alia Bhatt-starrer being the next one in the universe, reports have surfaced that Aditya Chopra has personally stepped in to save the picture.
