Their marriage happened in the Delhi-NCR region and was attended by close friends and family along with some cricket peers. Reportedly, Shikhar Dhawan and Sophie Shine had been dating for a few years after meeting in Dubai for the first time. Their friendship eventually turned into a romantic relationship and speculations about them arose during the ICC Championship Trophy 2025 when she was seen on the stands supporting him. Post this, the cricketer hinted at finding ‘peace’ and love in life again. The duo made it official on social media in May 2025, when Sophie shared a picture of them with tthe caption that said, “Love.”
Reports also revealed that they had been living together for more than a year before their announcing their engagement to the public. They subsequently got married in the presence of friends and family members. Born in Ireland, Sophie Shine attended Castleroy College for her education. Later, she attended the Limerick Institute of Technology to study management and marketing. She is currently employed as Northern Trust Corporation’s Second Vice President in Abu Dhabi, where she is involved in product consulting.
