Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor Ashish Kapoor recently made headlines after he was arrested in Pune for se*ual harassment. He was accused of r*ping a woman at a New Delhi house party, whom he had befriended on social media. The actor, along with his friend and his wife, was detained by the police. And amid this, here’s a timeline of when his engagement with producer Pearl Grey was called off.

Ashish Kapoor’s Engagement

Television actor Ashish Kapoor met his ex Pearl Grey on the sets of Mann Kee Awaaaz Pratigya 2. The duo got engaged after dating and even shared many cute pictures of themselves. The couple even got their engagement date inked on their backs in July 2021, which said, “XII-IV-XXI Till death do us part”. And while fans were eagerly waiting for the actor’s wedding, news of their broken engagement left everyone shocked.

Reports suggested that the duo didn’t part ways on a good note. They even unfollowed each other and deleted pictures. As quoted in BollywoodShaadis, a source suggested, “The cracks are too deep to be fixed. They are no more together and have ended the engagement. They have had tiffs in the past, too, but this time the relationship is over for good.” Though Ashish never said anything about this, Pearl, on the other hand, said that he was the biggest ‘mistake’ and ‘blunder’ of her life.

According to the FIR, the complainant claimed that Kapoor befriended her on Instagram and invited her to a house party in Delhi. She said that her drink had been spiked by him, and she felt disoriented after having it. In that state, she was taken to the washroom by him and his friends, where they se*ually assaulted her.
