KATSEYE is back with a new EP called Wild and it’s the first time with only five members featured. This comes after Manon’s indefinite hiatus and therefore the buzz was even more, with people wanting to know how they’ll do with five members. Honestly, the curiosity hit different this time. Well, after listening to their EP, except UNLOVEU, here’s what we think about the sound, the energy, and whether they still bring that same fire. Read on!
1. A clear showcase of their vocals
I’ve noticed that this EP finally gives the members more room to show their individual vocal colours. Instead of everything being heavily processed, we get to witness their individual tone and control shine through more clearly and naturally. The studio versions already impress me a lot, and I’m really looking forward to hearing the live performances.
2. The arrival of a bolder group identity
To me, WILD feels like the moment KATSEYE fully steps into a more confident and assertive image. The concepts and overall attitude seem less restrained than before. Let’s go, Hootie Frutti!
3. Strong stage presence as a five-member unit
Watching them perform as OT5, I’m struck by how tight the formations feel and how focused their power has become. Each member stands out and in some ways, performing as five has made their stage energy sharper rather than weaker.
4. Production that jumps around
I find the mix of sounds interesting, like techno-pop, funk, and softer moments all in one short EP. It keeps things lively, but the shifts can feel a bit sudden. For me, it’s engaging but not always smooth.

5. Creative involvement from the members
I’ve picked up on the group’s comments about having more input this time, and that sense of ownership comes through in the vibe of several songs. The authenticity is refreshing, but it also means a few moments still feel less fully resolved. This shows real growth, and I’m looking forward to them taking an even bigger role in making their future albums.
