Hema Malini Opens Up About Living Separately After Marrying Dharmendra, “Have To Accept…”

Hema Malini and Dharmendra’s marriage has been a topic of conversation over the years. On many occasions, the couple has not been spotted together which often raises eyebrows. It is now commonly known that she and Dharmendra are living separately for many years now, and Hema ji brought up Esha Deol and Ahana Deol all by herself. Recently, Hema Malini spoke about this aspect of her marriage, and how she went with the flow of life.

In an interview with Lehren Retro, Hema Malini shared her thoughts on being deemed a feminist icon for living separately after marriage and raising her daughters alone. “Nobody wants to be like that,” she said, and how it happened to her. Hema Malini went on to say that every woman wants to have a husband, and kids and have a normal family. But for her, life took a different course and she is not feeling bad about it or even sulking for how life turned out for her. Hema ji also added her Guru Ma was there to guide her every step of the way and also helped her.

The 74-year-old actress went on to reveal how Dharmendra was there for her always and that is the best part. The Baghbaan actress also added how Dharmendra was worried about both Esha and Ahana’s weddings and how he wanted them to get married early.

Hema ji married Dharmendra in 1980 when he was already married to his wife Prakash Kaur. Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur are parents to four children. Recently, when Dharmendra’s grandson Karan Deol got married, Hema, Esha and Ahana were not seen in attendance at his marriage festivities.
