Richa Chadha Reacts To Nora Fatehi’s Take On Feminism: “It’s A Misguided Reaction, It’s Not Real Understanding”

Feminism is still very much a misunderstood concept and this was recently proved by Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi. The actress firmly stated that feminism has f*cked up society and that women should be nurturers. Heeramandi star Richa Chadha reacted to this and also wondered if such statements were actually said. What Did Richa Chadha Say On Nora Fatehi’s Statement About Feminism?

Richa Chadha’s impressive performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi on Netflix has garnered a lot of praise from audiences and critics alike. The actress is busy giving back-to-back interviews and she recently addressed Nora Fatehi’s statements on feminism. Richa Chadha reacted to it and said that the beauty of feminism is that it wholeheartedly accepts women who use the benefits that come from it but do not want to be called feminists. Stating some facts and clarifying the definition of feminism, Richa Chadha further added that feminism gives women the choice to dress the way they like and choose a career for themselves. The actress called Nora’s statements “misguided information” and that it lacked real understanding.

In this interview with Puja Talwar, the actress also added that not every role needs to be defined according to gender. Richa Chadha gave the example of the lion family and how they adapt after a cub is born to them. Richa Chadha was against the idea of women being told what they should be and that responsibilities should be divided between people irrespective of gender.

Nora Fatehi’s Statement On Feminism

In an interview with Ranveer Allahabadia, Nora Fatehi firmly stated that the concept of feminism had f*cked up society and that women should focus more on being nurturers when the men are giving their best to be the providers.

Nora Fatehi faced her share of backlash for this statement. Richa Chadha has now given a much more refined definition of feminism that we would all agree with.
