If you know anything about the Indian entertainment industry, then you must have heard about the infamous nepotism debate that has been going on for so many years now. We all get into heated arguments whenever a star kid is launched in the film industry, people point out the same disadvantages of nepotism but we never get any solution or conclusion. In the latest episode of our series, Hautesteppers 3.0, the Veere Di Wedding actress talked about the struggles she had to face in the film industry because she is not a star kid. She said, “If you are a star kid, you get opportunities that you would not get as an outsider.” She added that it took her a decade to get her first Vogue cover. “It took me 10 years from my first breakout film which was in 2011, Tanu Weds Manu, I did my first Vogue cover in 2021. Swara Bhasker also mentioned that there are certain kinds of access, opportunities, and certain kind of launches that a star child will get. The Bhaag Beanie Bhaag star added that she would have never dreamed about being launched with one of the superstars. Swara further added that she has earned every close-up and she has this because she is deemed important enough on the set.
