Haryanvi Actor Uttar Kumar In Custody For R*pe Allegations; Hospitalised After Eating Poison
The arrest happened 9 days after the actress from Hapur, now living in Noida, allegedly tried to set herself on fire near the CM's house in Lucknow.
Haryanvi actor Uttar Kumar was booked by the police recently after a 25-year-old singer accused him of se*ual harassment. She claimed that the actor harassed her under the guise of offering a film and even promising marriage, as per PTI. The Ghaziabad police arrested him from his farmhouse in Amroha, after which his health deteriorated. This led him to be hospitalised for treatment. Read to know more about the case here.
Haryanvi Actor Uttar Kumar Arrested
The raid was conducted on the directions of Additional Police Commissioner Alok Priyadarshi at 4:30 am. The police took the accused into custody while he was asleep. DCP Trans Hindon, Nimish Patil, said that Uttar Kumar was brought to Ghaziabad for further legal formalities. He was later admitted to a private hospital for treatment, and officials confirmed that the legal proceedings will continue once his condition stabilises. The arrest happened 9 days after the actress from Hapur, now living in Noida, allegedly tried to set herself on fire near the CM’s house in Lucknow. She claimed that she initially met Uttar Kumar in August 2020, when he promised her big projects, including a lead role in 2023. She filed a complaint in Ghaziabad on June 24, 2025, accusing him of se*ual exploitation, but claimed that no FIR was registered until the High Court intervened almost a month later. She also said that the police failed to act even after she constantly shared this location.

Irritated, she staged a protest on September 6 by attempting self-immolation before the police stopped her. She later lodged another complaint alleging se*ual assault between January 2020 and July 2023. Based on her statement, police registered an FIR under charges of rape, criminal intimidation, and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, officials confirmed.
