Author Harinder Sikka took to his social media and penned that Calling Sehmat, ranks among the top books on espionage ever written globally. He added that it exposes Pakistan across the border, hostile forces in Bollywood and a Punjab-based criminals within. The author futher penned, “Appointing Meghna Gulzar was my gravest misjudgment. Despite clear warnings,” adding that he failed to foresee how ideological bias would diminish the actual spirit of the protagonist. He Recalls Meghan Gulzar’s Message
During his conversation with Hindustan Times, he recalled his first meeting with Raazi director Meghna Gulzar, revealing that he told her that he was appointing her on her father’s request, even though she did not have a good reputation in the industry. The author revealed that Meghna addressed him as “uncle” while filming the Alia Bhatt starrer project. However, Sikka claimed that after the film was completed, she wrote a “nasty message” saying that she did not want to speak to him anymore. He revealed that the director’s cut was shown to the armed forces but not to him. Adding that he appreciated films like Dhurandhar for showing Pakistan in its “true light.”
As of now, Meghna Gulzar has not commented on the controversy yet.
