Nimrat Kaur And Radhika Madan’s Social Thriller ‘Happy Teacher’s Day’ To Show Teachers Getting Judged For Having Personal Lives

September 5 is celebrated nationwide as Teacher’s Day in India. Teachers are our sources of knowledge and information, teaching us all things academic and imparting life lessons. From holding our hands when we first pick up the pencil to quite literally guiding us in our lives, teachers have always played a crucial role in moulding us into who we are today. So, respecting them is very important. But teachers also do have a life outside the classroom. Teaching is their profession, it is just a part of their life and their whole life.

A recent case in Kolkata came to light where a teacher was sacked because she uploaded photos in a swimsuit on her private social media profile. There was a huge outcry and protests from the parents who also came to see the photos and demanded that she be removed immediately for posting ‘obscene’ pictures. This is wrong on so many levels and quite shocking as well, to be honest. As they say, cinema is the reflection of society and movies impact the audience more than any medium, a film on the same issue has been announced on Teacher’s Day, today.

The YouTube channel of Maddock Films shared the video announcing their upcoming film titled Happy Teacher’s Day. The 40-second short clip gave a very important message as well. The video began by listing down the importance of teachers and then goes on to question why can’t teachers have a life. Screenshots of parents calling obscene names to a teacher were also shared in the video.
