Confirming earlier speculations, MBC’s new youth romance drama, Your Ground (working title), has cast Han Hyo Joo and Gong Myoung as its lead pair for a premiere in 2026. The drama is already drawing major attention for its emotionally charged sports-based storyline and its high-profile cast. Han Hyo Joo And Gong Myoung To Star In Upcoming K-Drama Your Ground
Your Ground follows the story of a bright baseball prospect whose life was turned upside down after his promising career came to a sudden halt due to a setback. Gong Myoung will star in the role of the fallen athlete, a rising star facing failure for the first time in his life. At the lowest moment of his life, he encounters a former lawyer who has made an unexpected career change into a sports agent, played by Han Hyo Joo. Through his evolving relationship with her, he begins his gruelling path back to the field and gradually recovers from losing his passion for baseball and his confidence in life.
Set against the intense world of professional baseball, the drama has already drawn comparisons to the classic Hollywood film Jerry Maguire in terms of the deep emotional bond it will portray between a player and his agent.
The series will be directed by Lee Sang Yeob, known for his visually striking and emotionally layered work on Yumi’s Cells.
Han Hyo Joo is also set to make her highly anticipated return to MBC with Your Ground. The acclaimed actress has widely proven her emotional range in highly memorable performances from hit dramas such as Dong Yi, W, Happiness, and Moving, along with films like The Beauty Inside.
Gong Myoung has also impressed viewers with leading roles in Lovers of the Red Sky, The Bride of the Water God, Be Melodramatic, and movies like Extreme Job. For this one, he plays a broken but determined baseball player, expected to showcase a more mature and emotionally grounded side of his acting.
