Hailey Bieber recently opened up about her feelings on being compared to other celebrities, including Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. Ever since her marriage to Justin, Hailey Bieber has constantly been compared to Selena. The two are also founders of their very successful companies, giving more reasons to pit them against each other. Hailey Bieber Opens Up About Being Compared To Selena Gomez
In the interview, Hailey Bieber talked about her major career milestones, including the success of her brand Rhode. The brand was recently acquired by e.l.f. Beauty for $1 billion. Hailey also opened up about the negative comments that are directed towards her private life, including her marriage to Justin Bieber.
Hailey further said that she has not felt “competitive” with other beauty brands. She explained that there is a lot of space in the industry for every brand to exist in a healthy way without competition. “I think there is space for everybody. I don’t feel competitive with people that I’m not inspired by,” she said.
According to ELLE, when the reporter tried to ask Hailey Bieber about Selena Gomez and her beauty brand Rare Beauty, her publicist quickly shut down the question. Hailey then said that she finds the comparisons annoying and cannot change others’ perception about her, “It’s always annoying being pitted against other people. I didn’t ask for that. When people want to see you a certain way and they’ve made up a story about you in their minds, it’s not up to you to change that,” she elaborated.
Bieber On Her Family
Talking about her relationship with Justin Bieber, Hailey revealed that both of them are currently trying to find their voice in their marriage. Hailey Bieber also talked about her son Jack Blues Bieber in the interview with the Wall Street Journal. She said that they do not want to reveal her son’s identity to the public until he grows old enough to understand the implications of it. Both Justin and Hailey post Jack on their Instagram frequently; however, his face is always hidden in the pictures.

Hailey Bieber’s Past Comments On Selena
Hailey Bieber has also talked about Selena in past interviews. In 2023, while appearing on Bloomberg Originals’ The Circuit With Emily Chang, she said that she finds her comparisons with Selena Gomez vile and disgusting. Hailey also said that she thinks it’s awful to pit two women against each other just because of their relationship with the same guy. She noted that such hatred came from twisted and perpetuated narratives.
