Bollywood’s famous designer Manish Malhotra is venturing into films with a romantic entertainer titled Gustaakh Ishq starring Naseeruddin Shah, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Vijay Varma, and Sharib Hashmi. Set against the backdrop of Old Delhi, the film is all about poetry, love, and an undiscovered murder keeping us hooked till the end. The film is all set to hit the theatres on November 28. Here’s what we thought about the trailer.

Gustaakh Ishq’s Trailer

Produced by Stage5 Production and directed by Vibhu Puri, the trailer for Gustaakh Ishq delves into the streets of Old Delhi with a young man, Vijay Varma (Nawabuddin Saifuddin Rahman), trying to fetch Naseerudeen Shah to teach him all about poetry. But lo behold, his daughter and a teacher at the local school, Fatima Sana Shaikh, comes home, makes eyes with him, starting a forbidden love story. The crisp and exceptional dialogues by Gulzar hit all the right spots.

The music composed by Vishal Bhardwaj also looks very heart-touching and strong, with lyrics spelling out the emotions of the characters. What exceptionally stood out for us was the fresh pairing of Fatima Sana Shaikh and Vijay Varma as they romance in an old-school way, making us on board with their delusion. But as soon as the walls of romance broke, we were taken into a whimsical murder mystery that kept us hooked till the end. Naseerudeen Shah (Aziz Sahib)’s dialogue delivery was top-notch, and we would love to see him explore this character of a shayar.
