Imagine a collaboration between Alia Bhatt and Gurinder Chadha. Wild right? Now we think it’s soon going to be a reality. According to the latest reports, Alia Bhatt might join hands with Chadha for an Indian princess musical. The filmmaker known for her projects like Bend It Like Beckham, and Bride And Prejudice was recently in the news for attending the Hope Gala, hosted by Alia Bhatt.

Fundraising for Salaam Bombay, Bhatt’s Hope Gala saw many Indian and international celebrities attending the event as investors. According to reports, Chadha has been in talks with Disney since 2022, for an original musical feature inspired by a “dynamic princess from Indian history.” The spin here was an Indian take on the franchise, Chadha will be directing and co-producing the project.

Bhatt, who is on her way to make a name overseas, has been collaborating with international filmmakers and luxury fashion brands, carving her way into Hollywood. Earlier, the actress made her international debut with Netflix’s Heart Of Stone. Besides acting, Alia has also turned producer and is making some exciting projects come to life. Gurinder has been meeting Alia on many occasions, including the time she flew down to India for Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira’s reception party, and also during the abroad premiere of Poacher.

The reports by Mid-Day also suggest that Gurinder is in talks with Alia, and almost finalising the star to headline her Disney project, expected to go on floors in 2025. If this is true, then we’re damn excited for this one to come to life.
