Reports of Gurinder attending the Hope Gala hosted by Alia Bhatt further fueled these speculations. Recently, Gurinder known for her hits like Bend It Like Beckham and Bride And Prejudice addressed the swirling rumours about Aliaâs involvement in her next big project. Gurinder took to social media to set the record straight regarding her upcoming Disney musical, which centres on an Indian princess.
The rumour mill went into overdrive with claims that Alia was set to lead Gurinder Chadhaâs next big Disney-backed project. The buzz gained momentum after the reposts of Gurinder and Aliaâs meeting earlier this year. Fans were excited with anticipation wondering if Alia would add a Disney princess to her diverse list of roles.
However, Gurinder Chadhaâs recent tweet has clarified the situation by giving the fansâ speculation a rest. In the said tweet, Gurinder said about not being sure why this rumour started in the first place also adding that the script of the said project is still in the works. Gurinder further explained that her meeting with Alia Bhatt was related to a different project altogether and their appearance together at the event had nothing to do with the Disney project. She said that this meeting was a pure coincidence.

Gurinder Chadhaâs response came after a lot of speculation around the topic fueled by reports.
