Exclusive: Hina Khan Reveals Pay Parity Still Exists, Says “There Is Improvement But…”
Evn though Hina Khan has not faced these pay gaps personally, she strongly believes that this problem should be addressed and eliminated.

Pay parity is still a big issue in the entertainment industry, with many women often earning less than their male counterparts. In an exclusive interview with Hauterrfly, Hina Khan, who is currently promoting her upcoming series Griha Laxmi, talked about the importance of equal pay for everyone. Well, even though Hina Khan has not faced these pay gaps personally, she strongly believes that this problem should be addressed and eliminated.
Hina Khan On Pay Parity
On being asked about what is still lacking for women in the industry. Hina Khan responded, “Pay parity. It still exists. It does; I hear a lot about it. I haven’t experienced it, but it does exist. That should end, and I think the Indian cinema is already changing. There are quite good meaty roles for women as well. There are women-centric films made nowadays. You are not completely dependent on the hero. Like, if you are the hero, then only it will become a superhit film. It’s not like that anymore! But when there’s a hero and heroine involved in a project together, it should be equal. Equality still lacks to some extent. There is improvement; there is a lot of improvement, but there’s a lot of work to do.”

Rightly said! Furthermore, she also talked about Griha Laxmi and what drawn her towards the character. She stated that it was a treat to play two different characters with two different shades in one project. “Especially Laxmi’s courage and Rani’s fierce nature, somehow I had a feeling that I could pull it off!” added Hina Khan. For the unversed, Griha Laxmi also stars Chunky Panday, Rahul Dev, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in prominent roles and will be released on January 16.
