Dalai Lama
The Tibetian spiritual leader and the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Dalai Lama also won his first Grammy Award. He was honoured in the Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording category. The award on his behalf was received by Rufus Wainwright. His audiobook- ‘Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’ consists of thoughts on harmony, well-being and more. Dalai Lama was nominated in this category along with comedian and television host Trevor Noah, and actress Kathy and US Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. An official acknowledgement note was posted on Dalai Lama’s official X handle.
Steven Spielberg
The American filmmaker Steven Spielberg also received his first Grammy Award 2026. The director has now received the EGOT status after finally receiving his Grammy Award for the music of John Williams. The film won the Best Music Film category. For the unversed, the EGOT status is received when any personality receives all the major music, film and TV awards like Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
K-Pop Demon Hunters Win
The first K-Pop win also took place this year at the Grammy Awards 2026. The song ‘Golden’ from KPop Demon Hunters won the award in the Best Song Written for Visual Media.
At Grammy this year, Lady Gaga won for her work Mayhem, Olivia Dean won in the Best New Artist, and even Bad Bunny won a Grammy.
