The prestigious Grammy Awards 2025 took place in Los Angeles and this was the 67th year of celebrating this award ceremony. Many deserving artists took home the award and one of them was Indian-American vocalist Chandrika Tandon. She won the award for her much-loved album Triveni which is a perfect blend of mantras and classical instruments. Read on to know more.
Indian-American Chandrika Tandon Wins Grammy!
It’s a proud moment for us! The Indian-American vocalist Chandrika Tandon won the prestigious Grammy’s Award in the category for Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album. She won the award for her album Triveni and shared it with her team members South African flautist Wouter Kellerman and Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto. There are a total of seven songs in this album and each song’s composition consists of Vedic chants, flute and cello. The album was released in 2024 and is the perfect example of classical music coming in sync with new-age music.
Other artists competing in this category were Chapter II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn by Anoushka Shankar and Warriors of Light by Radhika Vekaria. Break of Dawn by Ricky Kej and Opus by Ryuichi Sakamoto.

This was Chandrika Tandon’s first Grammy Award and congratulations poured in from everywhere. The Consulate General of India in New York also penned a heartwarming note to congratulate the vocalist and celebrate this big win.
Many other singers like Sabrina Carpenter won for her song ‘Espresso’. Beyonce’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ won the Best Album of the Year while Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars won in the Best Duo Performance category for their song ‘Die With A Smile’.
