We are living in the era of remakes. Well, we like it or not but that’s the harsh reality. While we are at it, a new remake from Ishq Vishk Rebound tiled Gore Gore Mukhde Pe was dropped on June 14. The movie stars Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Naila Grewal and Jibraan Khan. The remake song is sung by Udit Narayan, Badshah, and Nikhita Gandhi and the music is given by Badshah and Hiten. TBH, while I was quite satisfied with the other remakes that we have heard from the film till now, but I’m not particularly happy about Gore Gore Mukhde. The fact that the makers have tried to give a modern twist to this popular track does not work for us millennials. NGL, but the star cast has given their 100%, we wish the lyricist did too!
Gore Gore Mukhde Pe Song
Ishq Vishk Rebound’s latest song Gore Gore Mukhde pe is a remake of the original song from the film Suhaag. It was sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. The song featuring Akshay Kumar and Nagma was quite popular during the late 90s, and well, it was worth all the attention. However, as a true blue 90s kid, my loyalties lie with the OG song. While I am not a fan of this remake, the modern twist to this 90s song might be just what Gen Z is looking for. But it’s only fair to point out that the essence of this song was left behind in an attempt to make it upbeat and relatable for the modern audience. But who are we to judge?
‘Gore Gore Mukhde Pe’ has always had problematic lyrics which probably left many of us girls with self-esteem issues and while the new remake has given it a modern beat, we would’ve appreciated if the lyricist had tried to modernise the lyrics to suit 2024 and Gen Z in the right manner. Thoda upgrade lyrics bhi deserve karte hai. The choreography also lacks efforts which makes it heartbreaking to see the actors doing their 100% to do justice to this song. They deserved better.
