K-drama fans are always ready to share their opinions, especially when something makes them uncomfortable. Recently, a video of South Korean actor Gong Yoo at a fan meeting grabbed eyeballs and ignited a heated debate. Read on to know more about it.
Gong Yoo’s Fan Meet Video Goes Viral For All The Wrong Reasons
Gong Yoo is currently meeting fans across Asia as part of his fan meeting tour. However, a video from one of the events has sparked a heated debate online. In the clip, the actor can be seen pretending to be a dog. The video did not sit well with everyone, and the person who shared it expressed anger over the situation.
I’m sorry but what exactly are you guys screaming for ???? Because this shit is so irritating and disgusting. There’s absolutely nothing cute about this video Like no matter how much I love Gong Yoo, this is so cringey to watch😤 This man is literally approaching 50 and you guys are making him behave like this and we’re supposed to find it cute in the name of fan service? Why did he even agree to do this in the first place?— kdramahotgists (@kdramahotgists) October 15, 2026
Many fans agreed with the reaction and questioned why someone would ask an actor to do something like this. They also pointed out that spending money on tickets or fan meetings does not mean fans can make celebrities do whatever they want. Some people found the moment uncomfortable to watch and felt that such requests should not be treated as normal just because a fan is involved.
While many people criticised the fan’s request, some also pointed out that Gong Yoo may have known what he was expected to do. However, they still felt that the situation raised questions about fan culture.
Celebrities often go out of their way to make their fans happy, but some people believe there should be limits. Buying a ticket to meet a favourite star does not mean a fan gets to decide what that person should do.
On the work front, Gong Yoo will star alongside Song Hye-kyo in Netflix’s upcoming period drama Tantara, previously known as Slowly, Intensely and Show Business. The series will explore the Korean entertainment industry between the 1960s and 1980s and is expected to release in late 2026.
