It’s time to get excited because Rohit Shetty announced that he is kick-starting the shoot of Golmaal 5 with the OG cast, including Ajay Devgn and crew. He chose a special day, aka his birthday, to share about the film’s development. However, that is not all. Rohit also shared another surprise. Akshay Kumar will be joining the franchise as well. Yes, you read that right! Read on to know more about the same.
Akshay Kumar Joins Golmaal 5!
Rohit Shetty took to his Instagram handle on his birthday and shared a video announcing that Golmaal 5 was officially going on the floors. In the clip, we see the crew getting to work behind the screens, during which several OG cast members of the franchise were seen as well. We also got to see the iconic 5-seater bike. Giving a little glimpse of what’s to come, Rohit added a scene involving Ajay Devgn. At one point, Ajay, Arshad Warsi, Tushar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, and Kunal Kemmu were sitting together and having a wholesome discussion during which it was brought up that the franchise had completed 20 years. Then Shreyas requests that they create one more installment. To this, Ajay asks the director whether they should make one; Rohit agrees.
Then the Singham actor announces that there’s a surprise in store, during which Sharman Joshi, who originally played Lakshman in the first part, appears. In their iconic styles, both Kunal and Tushar ask him why he made his return. Sharman is then taken out of frame, after which Akshay Kumar arrives.

His New Avatar
Akshay Kumar appeared in a new bald avatar. In the video shared by Rohit Shetty, he wore a black hoodie and a dhoti. He greets the cast and crew, lip-syncs the film’s title track and also gives a peck on Ajay Devgn’s cheek. The Drishyam star quips that Akshay doesn’t leave a single franchise. The video concludes with the entire cast posing together!
