Gong Yoo, along with Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook, and Yoo In Na, is all set to go on a short break together. Kim played Ji Eun-tak, a 19-year-old student whose life intersects with the Goblin in unexpected ways. The Grim Reaper is played by Lee Dong Wook, while Yoo In Na essays the role of Kim Sun (aka Sunny), a fried chicken shop owner. While the story itself was achingly beautiful, it was the chemistry of the cast that carried the drama. As a result, considerable excitement among fans for this show.

The tvN network is yet to announce a production date, but they have said it will air in the first half of 2026. For context, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God premiered on December 2, 2016. This marks exactly 10 years since the first episode aired on television, changing the way people know K-dramas forever.

According to the statement released by the production team (translated by allkpop) at the Korean television network, they hope to “bring back cherished memories for viewers.” Considering its relevance a decade on, it referred to Goblin as an “iconic drama” that continues to receive love. Hoping to recreate the “laughter and emotion” as well as the “unchanged chemistry,” the team is confident that the “lasting resonance” of the tale returns.
