Thai Series Girl From Nowhere’s Lingerie Collaboration Sparks Online Fury Over “Creepy” Student Uniforms
The reboot starring Becky Armstrong has received much criticism.
Netflix Thailand’s Girl From Nowhere: The Reset has faced criticism for allegedly promoting s*xualisation of minors in a collaboration with a clothing brand. The series stars Becky Armstrong, a Thai-British actress, known for her work in the GL Gap: The Series. This version is a reboot of a popular Thai series about a strange girl who punishes those high schoolers who bully and harm others. Read on to find out why the series has received so much flak!
Girl From Nowhere: The Reset’s Clothing Collab Comes Under Fire For Questionable Advert
Collaborations with brands to release merchandise are relatively commonplace. So when the Girl From Nowhere reboot revealed it would be selling clothes based on the series, it was hardly surprising. They collaborated with the Thai version of Wacoal Mood, an undergarment brand. This startled many, especially when disclosed that they would sell bras and underwear along with T-shirts as merchandise. In itself, this would’ve still been fine, but one concerning advertisement for the new collection derailed the whole collaboration. Someone noticed this in the first few days of March at a store.

X (formerly known as Twitter) users noticed a display advertisement featuring models wearing Nanno (lead from Girl from Nowhere) bras and underwear underneath open school uniforms. One of the models even wore a thong that peeked out from the top of her skirt! The uniforms, as well as the provocative poses, concerned netizens about the s*xual implications they may have, especially for minors.
S*xual Nature Of the Uniform Ads Of Girl From Nowhere Berated
Many questioned how Girl From Nowhere could collaborate and drop such an advertisement when it tackled s*xualisation of minors in several episodes. They even wondered how this passed the internal stages and got released when someone should’ve pointed out the issues. One user even thought this would attract p*dophiles!
Girl from nowhere supposed to be a wake up call against crime involving minor. Idk whose brain idea thinking collab with undies brand w/ model wear school uniform is a good idea. It’s literally glorifying and sexualized minor innuendo. This is not me being too woke, it’s weird. https://t.co/3zJ82YjZxU

Wacoal Thailand seems to have taken the critique to heart. They announced on March 8, 2026, that they would be withdrawing the advertisement and dropping the collaboration.

The first episode of Girl From Nowhere: The Reset is on Netflix, already in the charts worldwide. It is in the Top 10 on Netflix India as well. Despite this, it has been called out due to a weak screenplay and comparisons between Becky and the previous Nanno, Kitty Chicha Amatayakul. New episodes drop every Saturday.
