Looks like there is a new homophobic alert! The variety and freedom that OTT has brought in the world of content has not been approved by Gadar 2 actress Ameesha Patel. She has particularly pointed out the content promoting homosexuality on the OTT platforms and has also stated that it is no longer meant to be watched by families. Yes, a big actress like Ameesha Patel did just present her homophobic opinions during an interview for her upcoming film Gadar 2 along with Sunny Deol.

Ameesha Patel will be seen in her upcoming film Gadar 2 which is going to be the sequel of her 2001 film Gadar. The actress is currently busy with the promotions of her film and in an interview, she talked about the “essence” that Gadar 2 will bring back onscreen for the Indian families. During this, Ameesha Patel put forth some homophobic comments. As per the actress, the OTT platforms have a lot of gay, lesbian and homosexual content which makes it unsuitable to be watched with family. In the interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha also told that such platforms force parents to put child lock and also restrict them from enjoying good “clean” films with family. The actress basically wanted to put forth the point that her film Gadar 2 will bring that lost essence to the screen where families get to enjoy a film that aligns with the Indian culture.

Ameesha Patel’s homophobic comment is certainly very upsetting. If only the actress would have known the importance of gender-inclusive content in today’s time. In this century, when an ignored section of society is finally getting representation and is being normalised through cinema, hearing such negative comments about it from an actress is certainly disappointing. Also, it is okay to promote one’s film on the strengths that would appeal to the audience but making homophobic comments is not. We wish she knew better!
