G-Dragon’s Label Galaxy Corp. To Establish a Subsidiary Branch In India
According to a Korean Herald report, an industry source revealed that BIGBANG G-Dragon’s company, Galaxy Corp, is currently researching the Indian market to establish its fourth overseas branch. The source explained to the outlet that the company’s business division is working on establishing an Indian subsidiary. Last year, G-Dragon’s team also made local inquiries about concert demand and performance-related queries for the artist’s possible shows in the country.
If the developments come to fruition, Galaxy Corp. will be the second K-pop label to establish a branch in India, following the media giant HYBE.
Industry experts view this move as Galaxy Corp’s push to grow in the International market and highlight its global status ahead of the company’s planned public offering. Although the agency has not confirmed plans for its IPO schedule, reports reveal that it is aiming to do so next year.
Aside from signing G-Dragon, Galaxy Corp. is also expanding its artist line-up. The company recently signed veteran actor Song Kang Ho, famous for his roles in films like Parasite and Memories of Murder. Famous Korean TV personality Kim Jong Kook also signed with Galaxy Corp. this year. This signals the company’s growing focus on expansion and diversification.
