Even after spending years in the entertainment industry, celebrities cannot seem to escape criticism. The latest example is South Korean actor Son Ye Jin, who is being judged for everything from how she eats a cheese stick to what she wears on vacation. And honestly, why should something as simple as eating a snack or enjoying a holiday become a reason to criticise someone? Read on to know more about it.
Son Ye Jin’s Vacation Outfits Face Backlash For Not ‘Suiting Her Image’
Recently, Son Ye Jin shared a short video on social media with the caption, saying she had finally eaten something delicious. In the video, she takes a bite of a cheese stick and enjoys the long stretch of melted cheese like a normal person. Many fans found the moment cute, with some praising how pretty she looked while eating and others wanting to try the snack themselves.
However, according to Koreaboo, some netizens had a problem with even this simple moment. They criticised the way she chewed, called eating with her hands unhygienic and claimed that it ruined her image.
The criticism did not stop there. On October 18, Son Ye Jin shared photos from her trip to Yokohama, Japan. The pictures showed her enjoying the seaside with a Ferris wheel in the background. She wore an oversized T-shirt, a long skirt and sunglasses. But even her vacation outfit became a topic of criticism, with some netizens making negative comments about her clothes.
Honestly, this is getting ridiculous. What is wrong with a woman enjoying her food or wearing something comfortable on vacation? Son Ye Jin was simply sharing a small part of her life. She was not asking anyone to judge her eating habits or decide whether her outfit was good enough.

There is a difference between criticising someone’s work and picking apart everything they do. Being a celebrity does not mean giving up the freedom to eat, dress or live the way they want.
People need to remember that celebrities are human beings, too. They do not have to look perfect in every video or dress up for every social media post.
