1. Rush

Showcasing the iconic rivalry between British playboy James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl), if this could be the only the only F1 film you’d ever watch, then there would be no regrets. Directed by Ron Howard, Rush is one of the most gripping thrillers focused on two wildly different men pushing each other to the edge. Witness the magic of real race footage mixed with choreographed sequences to make your blood rush!

2. Ferrari

Ferrari delves into the crisis point in Enzo Ferrari’s (Adam Driver) career and chaotic life. With a failing company on one hand, an unravelling marriage to Laura Ferrari on the other, he’s still mourning the death of his son. Against these circumstances, he bets everything on the Mille Miglia, a perilous open-road endurance event. It depicts Ferrari less as an icon and more as a guy under attack—prideful, haunted, and completely consumed by his sport.

3. Formula 1: Drive To Survive

Every Formula 1 rookie MUST watch Drive To Survive to take part in the Twitter, Reddit wars! Produced by Netflix, the docuseries is currently on its 6th season, offering behind-the-scenes access to drivers, teams, and discussions. While many argue that several plot points are dramatised for effect, the series portrays the pressure cooker of modern Formula One, where sponsors control strategy and one bad weekend may ruin a career. If nothing else, Drive to Survive demonstrates that true drama isn’t always on the track.

4. Williams

This documentary centres around the life of one of F1’s most storied teams, Sir Frank Williams. It reveals how his meticulous ambition to build a motorsport powerhouse cost him moments in his marriage to Virginia “Ginny” Williams. From the team’s rise in the 1980s and 90s, to Frank eventually being paralysed in the infamous 1986 car crash, it has everything.

Lucky! shows how control, negotiation, and sheer willpower enabled him to centralise F1’s commercial rights and establish its media empire. It’s for anyone curious about how Formula 1 evolved into a polished, commercial spectacle.

6. Ford vs Ferrari

Just like the title, it’s a tale of when Ford tried to dethrone Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and Ken Miles (Christian Bale) are asked to build a car fast enough to compete with the Italians. The themes also revolve around engineering sparkle and driver temperament that will resonate with fans.
