Earlier, Ju Haknyeon found himself in the middle of a huge scandal after photos of him hanging out with Kirara Asuka, a retired Japanese adult film actress, surfaced online. Someone took photos of them laughing and even hugging and fans were shocked. Within days, his agency announced that Ju Haknyeon would leave THE BOYZ and the company.
The agency said the meeting broke serious rules in his contract. They stopped all his activities right away and later demanded well over 2 billion won in penalties. Now, according to Billboard, Ju Haknyeon says he did nothing illegal. He explained that he met Kirara Asuka for the first time that night among many other people. To him, it was just adults having drinks together after work. He pointed out that she had already quit the adult industry years ago. More importantly, he never gave permission for anyone to take or sell those private photos. Someone at the bar secretly took the pictures and sent them to gossip sites for money.
When the company asked him to sign papers accepting the huge fine and the end of his contract, he refused. He knew that paying such a large amount would ruin his life. Instead of giving up, he decided to fight back. He filed a lawsuit against the agency for kicking him out without fair reason and without his agreement. He is also taking legal action against several media companies for spreading false stories that damaged his name.
