Gaeun, a former member of MADEIN, has now taken a significant step by filing a complaint against the CEO of her former agency, 143 Entertainment. A press conference was held in Seoul focusing on Gaeun’s accusations of s*xual harassment against the CEO. Present at this important event were Gaeun’s mother, her legal representative, the former A&R team leader from 143 Entertainment, and representatives from the Hanbit Media Labour Human Rights Centre.
During the conference, Gaeun’s mother shared her feelings about the difficult situation. Her mother stated that she had previously encouraged her daughter to persevere through hardships. She believed it was a necessary part of navigating social life and achieving her goals. Her mother also expressed deep regret for not recognising the distress signals her daughter had been sending.
Furthermore, Gaeun’s mother recalled how the CEO’s physical contact, initially minor, became increasingly troubling for Gaeun after she finished high school. Despite Gaeun clearly stating her discomfort and asking him to stop, the CEO allegedly continued his actions.
Earlier, Gaeun had shared a handwritten letter. In it, she explained the difficulty she faced in speaking out amidst rumours and recordings she was unaware of. She expressed gratitude to those who believed in and supported her, saying their warmth gave her strength. Gaeun conveyed her apologies for the delay in sharing her story.
She wrote about her deep connection to being an idol, describing it as a lifelong dream. The moments on stage, connecting with fans, and the hard work in the practice room were precious memories for her. However, as time went on, difficult experiences began to overshadow these positive moments. She endured unwanted situations and unfair treatment, but her fear of losing her dream kept her from giving up.

Gaeun also revealed that she learnt about her departure from MADEIN through a news article. Leaving without any explanation or farewell to her fans caused her deep pain. Because being an idol was her cherished dream, she decided to no longer stay silent and to share her experiences. Despite feeling she still has much to learn, she promised to reach out to everyone with sincerity, thanking them for their trust and apologising for any worry caused.
