Yang Hyun-suk Receives Probation For Threatening Witness In B.I’s Drug Case

The former CEO of YG Entertainment, one of the biggest entertainment agencies in the world, Yang Hyun-suk, is making headlines after he was found guilty of trying to hide a drug investigation on his artist (B.I). The Supreme Court announced its final decision on July 18th. Read on to know more about it. And, as per Korean media outlets, Yang Hyun-suk will be on probation for one year. The former CEO will now have to follow certain rules for a year, and if he breaks any of them, he will have to go to jail for six months. This decision comes after a long time, and finally the case has received closure.

When Did It Start?

It all began in August 2016 when the former CEO was accused of trying to force a person named Han So-hee to alter her statement. Reports also claimed that Yang Hyun-suk threatened her. However, the former CEO denied it. Earlier, due to lack of evidence, he wasn’t found guilty, but during the recent trial, the court found him guilty for using his power in a wrong way.

Yang Hyun-suk Responds

According to reports, the former CEO of YG Entertainment shared his thoughts after the Supreme Court’s decision today. He stated that he regretted the Supreme Court’s choice but would accept it humbly. He also promised to focus on his work with more care and great responsibility.

For the unversed, back in 2016, former member of popular K-pop group iKON, B.I, got into massive trouble for allegedly purchasing marijuana and LSD.  The former iKON member admitted trying marijuana a few times and getting LSD, and in response, he received four years of probation.
