What Did Fatima Sana Shaikh Say?

Fatima Sana Shaikh appeared on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast and revealed having an unhealthy relationship with food. The actress shared that she put on weight while filming Dangal as it was her character’s requirement. She recalled training for three hours due to which she had to eat around 2,500 to 3000 calories every day to gain weight. Fatima said that when they finished filming, she did not exercise much but continued consuming 3000 calories because she had got used to eating that much. The actress revealed battling Bulimia for two years.

The Ludo star shared that her understanding of diet was “rigid.” Fatima told Rhea that she’s always hungry. The silver lining is that she has become aware of it because that toxic relationship has been changing for years. She also revealed operating in “extremes.” Recalling a recent incident, the actress stated that she kept on eating for two hours and then starved herself. This also resulted in her not being able to go out of her house. Fatima reflected on the time when her Dangal co-star Sanya Malhotra pointed out her unhealthy relationship with food. But Fatima could not understand where she was going wrong. She then expressed her gratitude to screenwriter Rahul Mody who introduced her to a healthy diet.

The Chachi 420 star stated that whenever a person has a mental health problem, everything appears fine externally. She told Rhea that the dark thoughts are inside a person’s mind and they are battling it alone.

Fatima’s confession was a brave move. It’s not easy to share one’s feelings. We hope this helps people who are facing similar issues. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful in their own body. It’s good to keep your body in check but it’s unhealthy when one does that due to external validation, shame and insecurity.
